Dear Students , Railway Recruitment Board has released the recruitment notification yesterday (2nd Feb 2018) for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot & Technicians.
 Only single online application (common to all the notified posts- ALP & Technicians) has to be submitted by the candidate through the link provided in this post. Those awaiting results of the final examination for the prescribed qualification are not eligible and hence should not apply.
Start Date to Apply Online: Today [3rd February 2018]
Last Date for registration of Online Application: 5th March 2018 (23: 59 hrs.)
First stage Computer Based Test (CBT): Tentatively scheduled during April and May, 2018.

Pay Scale:
Level 02 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of Rs.19900/- plus other allowances as admissible. 
Educational Qualification:

Loco Pilot (ALP)
10th/12th standard + ITI in the relevant trade
or
10th/12th standard + Diploma in the relevant trade
or
10th/12th + Degree In Engineering
Technicians
10th/12th + ITI from recognised institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade.
It has been notified that for the post of Technicians, Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in place of course completed Act Apprentice/ITI unless it is specified otherwise. Following the same, Graduate Act Apprentice will not be accepted in place of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA)
Further, Candidates having Diploma / Degree qualification have to select the trade from the drop down list for appearing in the qualifying Part B test of Second Stage CBT.
Note:  Those awaiting results of the final examination for the prescribed qualification are not eligible and hence should not apply. 
Age Limit:
  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 28 years
Age Limit as on 01st July 2018 i.e. born not earlier than 02.07.1990 and not later than 02.07.2000, for all above posts.
The maximum age relaxation:
  • OBC – by 3 years & SC/ST – by 5 years
Application Fees:
  • UR & OBC: Rs. 500/-
  • SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class : Rs. 250/-
Selection process:
There shall be two stages examination common for ALP and Technician:
  1. First stage CBT
  2. Second Stage CBT)
Only for ALP: Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT).

Note:Marks will be normalized in all the stages of exam.

  • Negative Marking: For every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted.
  • Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for second stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of ALP and Technician Posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in First Stage CBT.

    • Qualifying Mark: 35 % (This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible).
    • This part is qualifying in nature and shall have questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).
    Computer Based Aptitude Test (Only for candidates who have opted for ALP)
    • The candidate needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible.
    • There shall be no negative marking in Computer Based AT. 
    • The ALP merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the Aptitude Test, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the Part A of Second Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in Computer Based AT.
    Document Verification and Empanelling of Candidates
    For Technician posts:-
    Based on the performance of candidates in Part Aof the Second Stage CBT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT.
    For ALP:-
    Based on the performance of candidates in both Part A of the Second Stage CBT and Computer Based AT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT.
    Note: Any attempt by a candidate to submit more than one application against this CEN shall result in disqualification and debarment.
